Abstract

A previously healthy 54-year-old man presented with bloody diarrhea and cutaneous lesions. Examination revealed signs of advanced immunosuppression, confirmed by HIV diagnosis with a CD4 count of 45 and viral load of 5.5 million. Imaging showed widespread effusions and bowel wall thickening. Endoscopic evaluation identified polypoid Kaposi's sarcoma lesions throughout the GI tract, confirmed by biopsy. Complications during hospitalization included cytomegalovirus colitis and COVID-19 pneumonia. The patient died on hospital day 32.
