Abstract

This correspondence reports two adult cases of histologically confirmed myocarditis occurring within 2 weeks of Covid-19 mRNA vaccination. Patient 1, a 45-year-old woman, developed severe left ventricular dysfunction 10 days after receiving BNT162b2, with biopsy revealing mixed inflammatory infiltration. She recovered with medical therapy. Patient 2, a 42-year-old man, experienced cardiogenic shock and died 3 days after symptoms emerged post–mRNA-1273 vaccination. Autopsy showed biventricular myocarditis with similar histopathological features. Despite lack of viral or autoimmune markers, a direct causal link remains unproven. The report emphasizes the need for continued surveillance and further research into vaccine-associated myocarditis.
