Plummer–Vinson Syndrome

Abstract

This clinical image report describes a 39 year old woman presenting with fatigue and progressive dysphagia. Diagnostic evaluation revealed severe iron deficiency anemia and esophageal webs causing cervical esophageal strictures. The patient was diagnosed with Plummer Vinson syndrome a triad of iron deficiency anemia, dysphagia, and esophageal webs. Treatment included intravenous iron supplementation and endoscopic balloon dilation. Her symptoms resolved after three months of therapy.
