Fallopian Tube Torsion
Abstract
A 19 year old woman presented with acute abdominal pain and was diagnosed with left fallopian tube torsion, confirmed via laparoscopy. Imaging revealed a cystic adnexal structure and free fluid. Surgical intervention included detorsion followed by salpingectomy due to nonviable tissue. Histopathology identified hydrosalpinx without malignancy or endometriosis. This case highlights the importance of prompt diagnostic imaging and surgical management for fallopian tube torsion, a rare but clinically significant gynecologic emergency.
