Abstract

A 66-year-old woman with metastatic breast cancer presented with an asymptomatic, fragmented, netlike rash on her left thigh. Unlike livedo reticularis, which has a continuous pattern and may arise due to cold exposure, livedo racemosa results from pathological disruption of cutaneous blood flow. Testing ruled out autoimmune and coagulation disorders, and biopsy findings revealed tumor embolism, confirmed by cytokeratin 7 and GATA-binding protein 3 staining. The patient’s breast cancer treatment had been interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite chemotherapy resumption, she died seven months later from respiratory failure.
