Abstract

This case report describes a 26 year old woman who presented with recurrent hemoptysis coinciding with her menstrual cycles. Imaging revealed a ground glass cavitary nodule in the right lower lobe, which was resected via video assisted thoracoscopic surgery. Histopathological analysis confirmed thoracic endometriosis, a rare condition where endometrial tissue implants in the thoracic cavity. The patient remained symptom-free two years post resection. The report highlights the importance of considering thoracic endometriosis in women with cyclical respiratory symptoms and the role of CT imaging and histopathology in diagnosis.
