Abstract

This clinical image article presents a case of a 35-year-old woman with a 4-year history of itchy, wartlike public lesions that bled when shaved. Initially misdiagnosed and treated as genital warts with cryotherapy, the lesions persisted. Examination revealed hyperpigmented, hyperkeratotic plaques over the mons pubis. Dermoscopy showed characteristic reddish to violaceous lacunae and a white veil, leading to the diagnosis of angiokeratoma of Fordyce a benign vascular skin lesion more common in men and often mistaken for genital warts. The patient was successfully treated using Nd:YAG laser followed by erbium:YAG laser, with no recurrence at 2 month follow up.
