Training the Next Generation of Clinician-Innovators

Abstract

This perspective emphasizes the urgent need to cultivate a new generation of clinician innovators who can address complex healthcare challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration, technology development, and systems thinking. The authors argue that medical education should integrate innovation training to equip physicians with the skills to improve care delivery, reduce costs, and enhance patient outcomes. The piece calls for structural changes in academic medicine to support innovation as a core competency in healthcare.
